The Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG) is a Federal Ministry of Education initiative designed to support student innovators and teams developing high-impact solutions in Nigeria. The programme focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medical Sciences (STEMM) and provides selected ventures with milestone-based funding, structured validation and national visibility. The current S-VCG cycle lists up to ₦50 million in grant funding. Funding is released in tranches based on achievement of defined milestones.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must: Be currently enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary institution. Attend a university, polytechnic or college of education. Be in 300 level or above, or equivalent. Be from either a public or private tertiary institution. Apply individually or as part of a team. Have a project/business with a CAC-registered business name/company in Nigeria. Have a clear business plan. Include expenditure milestones and KPIs. Operate within an eligible STEMM area. Have a project beyond the proof-of-concept stage and sufficiently developed to demonstrate real-world potential. Lower-level students: Students below 300 level can participate as team members if the team is led by a qualifying 300-level-or-above student, with the eligible student included as a co-founder or partner.
